Native Life - Season 1, Episode 1: Movements
Co-hosts: Eniko and Patrick

In this episode we explore the formation and the work of movements in the Native American community.

From AIM in the 1960s to Idle No More in 2012 to the multiple groups working against the extractive industries that are attempting to exploit lands and waters crucial to tribal survival - movements have been a vehicle for organizing and focusing resistance.

We will be presenting the first installment of Unresolved - part of a documentary series about the preservation of Oak Flat (located on San Carlos Apache treaty lands) and the surrounding area in AZ. Apache Stronghold and other allied groups are actively resisting the impending destruction of this National treasure by a foreign mining company.

Special guests for this broadcast are Joye Braun (O'O'Henumpa band of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe) and Elizabeth Lone Eagle (enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe).
